Featured Scholarship Recipient
This year the Natalie Lunn Foundation Scholarship was awarded to Rider graduate, Brittany Medlen. Brittany plans to attend Midwestern State University and follow in the family footsteps. Her mother, Mandy Stanford, is currently the assistant principal at Kirby Jr. High after many years in the classroom as a secondary Language Arts teacher in the WFISD. Brittany also wants to teach at the secondary level, 4th-6th grade, but she has her heart set on becoming a math teacher.
Her mom enthusiastically says, "Brittany just loves math and wants to share that as a teacher!"
It sounds like Brittany is off and running into her future! A very independent young lady, already living on her own and working at Cheddars, she is ready to start a whole new chapter in her life this fall at Midwestern. The Foundation is proud that Brittany wants to become a teacher and pass on the love of learning that her family has instilled in her. Perhaps we will one day see Ms. Medlen gracing the halls at one of our WFISD grade schools!
